Sensory-friendly activities for neurodivergent teens and young adults in Houston
Finding welcoming, inclusive activities in Houston can be hard. The Abilities Lounge was created to change that — a relaxed, sensory-friendly space in Northwest Houston where neurodivergent teens and young adults can spend time on their own terms. There's no rigid schedule and no pressure to take part in any one thing. Friends choose what feels right, whether that's an arcade game, a craft project, quiet time in the sensory room, or simply hanging out with others who get it.
Every visit is a low-key chance to practice real-world social skills — starting a conversation, taking turns, joining a group activity, or asking for help — in a setting built for comfort rather than performance. Our trained team is on hand to help friendships grow, and parents, caregivers, and support people are always welcome to stay and enjoy the lounge.
